Carey Medal

Community service is integral to our culture at Carey. From the very beginning of their schooling, all students are involved in giving back and learning about issues of social justice, human rights and the responsibility to make positive change in any way we can.

The Carey Medal represents this important commitment. It is presented to a member of the Carey community (a past or present student, staff or parent) in recognition of exceptional and outstanding service to the wider community either within the state, nationwide or internationally.

The award can recognise selfless achievements of a high profile or not, made in a short time or carried out over longer periods of time. The recipient can be starting out in their community service journey, or have years of service experiences.

Nominations

Confidentiality in nomination is essential and nominees should not be aware that they are being nominated for the award.

Nominations are to be made on the form below, giving the details of the person nominated and the justification for the nomination, not just the naming of the person. These forms are only valid when signed and dated by both the nominator and the corroborator. Nominators must provide details of at least two people in addition to the nominator who are able to make direct comments on the contribution/service of the person they are nominating.

If there is not enough space on this form, further supporting documentation may be attached, provided it is specifically directed to this nomination and for no other purpose.

The provision of all necessary information is the responsibility of the nominator.

Nominations close at 5.00pm on 31 May each year.
