It has been a privilege to work at a school that values the co-curricular program so highly; our students experience so much from their time outside of the classroom, and to have been able to work in this space for an extended period has indeed been a truly rewarding experience.
My three children all attended Carey from Year 7 to 12 and all loved their time at the School. They have been the direct beneficiaries of a Carey education and all have a genuine love for their old school.
I wish the next generation of students, staff and parents all the very best for the future – Carey is and will always be one of the truly great schools in Australia.
A superb November evening at the Carey Boatsheds was the perfect backdrop for our latest rowing boat naming ceremony. Three new boats were named in honour of Susannah Lutze (2022), Shane Jackson (2006) and retiring Head of Junior School Donvale, Steve Wilson.
Susannah rowed at Carey from Year 10 to 12 and recently represented Australia at the Paris Paralympic Games, finishing in fifth place in her category. Shane had an outstanding rowing career at Carey and represented Australia and Victoria in a number of crews after leaving school, as well as being a dedicated coach at Carey. Steve, a long-serving and passionate staff member was ‘Absolutely chuffed and proud to receive the honour’, sharing the event with his close family.
We congratulate our three recipients of this wonderful honour and wish our newest members of the Carey fleet every success in the future!
