Announcing our 2024 Carey Medallist: Toni Joel OAM (1982)

The Carey Medal Committee is thrilled to announce that Toni Joel OAM (1982) is the recipient of the 2024 Carey Medal. Toni is the founder of the Off Your Back winter coat drive, a charitable initiative dedicated to providing warm clothing to people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Victoria.

The Carey Medal represents an important commitment to community service by recognising people in our community making positive change. Toni’s efforts have seen Off Your Back grow into a vital movement, collecting and distributing over 300,000 coats since its inception.
