Dear families,
I am proud to share with you our 2022 Year 12 results.
We have been delighted with the performance of our graduating class of 2022. It has been such a pleasure to have them back and fully engaged in the breadth of our program across the year.
We congratulate our students on the way in which they have applied themselves striving for personal excellence in all dimensions of our program and we will look on with a sense of great anticipation as they will continue to create positive change in their lives beyond Carey.
The Year 12 Class of 2022 achieved excellent academic results:
We are pleased to announce the 2022 Dux of Carey is Jamie Holmes, who achieved a perfect IB score of 45, translating to the highest possible ATAR of 99.95.
We also sincerely congratulate the 15 other IB and VCE students who received an ATAR of 99 or above and join Jamie as Carey Scholars: Wilson Amos, Abby Dickson, Leo Halford Molinaro, Andy Huang, Felicity Jones, Mark Li, Henry Meng, Luca Pellegrino, Thomas Qiao, Olivia Storey, Eric Tang, Georgia Vaughan, Cathy Wang, Alexander Watson and Benjamin Zhang.
Beyond the numbers, there are many wonderful examples throughout this cohort of individuals who have achieved beyond expectation, having overcome enormously challenging situations. The results reflect their commitment and determination over many years. In partnership with our parents, our sincere thanks goes to our outstanding team of teaching and professional staff for their expertise, dedication and support of our students, not just at the Year 12 level, but throughout each student’s entire Carey journey. We know our students, staff and parents are committed to enabling each student to achieve their best.
To celebrate the experiences and achievements of our Year 12s during 2022, we interviewed a number of graduating students about their reflections on this year at Carey, how they have grown and how they feel this year will shape their lives beyond school.
At Carey we celebrate that our students are more than the sum of their academic results and are confident they enter the next stage of their lives well prepared to take on challenges with courage, compassion and curiosity.
We congratulate each member of our Year 12 Class of 2022 and wish them all the very best for their future endeavours.
With best wishes,
Jonathan Walter
Principal
