The best school netball teams in the state

Success is definitely sweeter when it is shared, and we do this well in the Carey Netball program. The Senior First, Intermediate and Junior Netball Teams recently competed in the Netball Victoria Schools Championships and all three teams finished top of the table in their respective preliminary rounds with all advancing to the final’s days.

The Senior First Netball Team (feature image) entered the championships after winning the APS Netball Premiership for the third successive time. They maintained their unbeaten record throughout the Victorian Schools Championships to clinch victory in the gold medal match by just two goals in the dying minutes.

Despite facing formidable opponents, the Intermediate Team showcased their determination, teamwork and tenacity to finish a very impressive fifth place in their pool. An amazing achievement in a highly competitive competition.

The Junior Team (pictured above) progressed through their tournament undefeated, showing their resilience and composure under pressure in winning the semi-final in overtime and emerging victorious in a closely contested gold medal match.

Netball Victoria’s School Championships is one of the largest netball tournaments conducted in Australia, attracting school teams from all over Victoria. All three teams’ remarkable performances are a testament to the dedication, passion and extraordinary talent of our players and coaching staff. The entire school community is very proud of their outstanding achievements but more importantly by the way they played their games, with grace, integrity, and humility.
