During the recent holiday break, it was heartening to witness a bustling Jane Simon Library, as many of our dedicated students took advantage of the peaceful haven to prepare for their upcoming VCE and IB examinations. To all our Senior School students, we extend our best wishes as they embark on this journey to showcase their talents and hard work through these important assessments.

Meanwhile, the sports enthusiasts among us had their eyes glued to the AFL Grand Final, where Collingwood secured a memorable victory. We take great pride in the achievements of our alumni, including Darcy Moore (2013 Carey School Captain), Tom Michell (2011) and Nick Daicos (2020), who continue to exemplify great character and uphold values of sportsmanship, humility and generosity. Anyone who was excited by this magnificent Carey sporting moment, make sure you get your tickets now for the Centenary Sports Dinner at the MCG on Friday 20 October, where we’ll celebrate a century of sporting excellence. Ticket sales close this Friday (13 October) at 5pm – don’t miss out.

Term 4 kick-off
As the new term unfolds, we wasted no time in commemorating the artistic and musical talents of our students. The Jeffrey O Thomas Quadrangle came alive with jazz during a fantastic Jazz in the Quad evening last Thursday. Following this musical extravaganza, the Carey Art Exhibition opened its doors last Friday night in the MGH, celebrating a display of creativity and talent from our students in Years 7 to 12.

Farewell and new beginnings for the Class of 2023
As we near the end of the academic year, we prepare to bid farewell to our exceptional Class of 2023. Tonight we will gather at St Paul’s Cathedral for the Leavers Service and the Valedictory Celebration at Centrepiece. It will be a poignant moment to acknowledge the outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment of this class throughout our centenary year. They have demonstrated immense dedication, upholding our school values of Care, Respect and Growth in every aspect of their school journey.

Looking ahead, we invite you to join us at St Paul's Cathedral on Monday, November 27, for the Carey Christmas Carols. This cherished tradition offers a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, celebrating the spirit of Christmas and giving thanks for the year gone by.

We look forward to continuing our journey together, celebrating achievements, fostering growth, and embracing the values that define our Carey community.
