Carey offers Academic Scholarships each year to students in Years 7 and 10.

Carey Baptist Grammar School is pleased to offer a limited number of Academic Scholarships at Year 7 and Year 10 in 2026.

Current and prospective students can apply.

Scholarships usually cover 50% remission of tuition fees. They do not cover the cost of application and entry fees, books, uniform, computers or the consolidated fee (which covers camps and excursions).

Applications for all scholarships can be lodged online through the School website from 21 October 2024 – please read through the information on this page and apply through the links below.

Year 7 Academic Scholarships

  • Registrations Open: Monday 21 October 2024
  • Registration Closing Date: Friday 31 January 2025
  • Late Applications Closing Date*: Monday 3 February 2025
  • Examination Date: Saturday 8 February 2025 at 9.00am
  • Supplementary Examination Date**: Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 9.15am

Year 10 Academic Scholarships

  • Registrations Open: Monday 21 October 2024
  • Registration Closing Date: Friday 31 January 2025
  • Late Applications Closing Date*: Monday 3 February 2025
  • Examination Date: Saturday 8 February 2025 at 2.00pm
  • Supplementary Examination Date**: Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 9.15am

* Incurs late fee of additional $150.00
** Incurs fee for supplementary exam service of additional $150.00

The registration fee for 2025 scholarship applications is $95.00. Late applications will incur a late fee rate of $245.00 ($95.00 plus $150.00 late fee). Parents requesting the supplementary sitting service will incur a $150.00 fee in addition to the standard registration fee. Fees may change year to year without notice.

Application process

To apply for a scholarship for entry at Year 7 or Year 10 in 2026, please click on the relevant link below and follow the online instructions.
Registration for all scholarships is available online from mid-October to late January in the year prior to entry. Students undertake the Scholarship test in the February prior to their proposed year of entry, e.g. in the February of Year 6 for Year 7 entry. All candidates are contacted in due course to learn the outcome of their application.

Scholarship testing

Scholarship testing will take place on Saturday 8 February 2025 at the School. The examination for Year 7 scholarships will take place at 9.00am and the examination for Year 10 scholarships will take place at 2.00pm.

Once you have registered online you will receive more information about the day closer to the testing period.

For students who are unable to attend on this date, a supplementary examination will be held at another venue (not at Carey) on Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 9.15am. Please note there is an additional fee for parents who request the supplementary sitting. Results

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the relevant School Section Office to arrange an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will receive notification once the selection process has been finalised, along with a copy of the test results. This process can take several weeks to complete.
