To cap off a stunning year for netball at Carey, our Senior (First Team) and Junior (Year 7/8) Girls Netball Teams have both been crowned state schools champions after winning their respective tournaments over the last week.
Both teams went through the preliminary rounds undefeated and faced nail-biting games against very competitive Loreto teams in the finals to clinch their wins.
This is a stunning result to have both our Junior and Senior teams as state champions. After our First Team winning the APS title in early August for the third year in a row, it confirms Carey as the number one Netball school in Victoria in 2023.
Well done girls!

On Friday 28 August, Carey’s First Boys Soccer Team (feature image) entered a group stage phase and went through undefeated in contests that were extremely tight. Two convincing wins had the team qualify for the semi-final against AGSV Champions Marcelin College.
The semi-final was a tight affair and locked in at 1–1 with 10 minutes to go – however, Carey found a bit more in the tank to score two late goals and win 3–1!
As a result of the above, this Friday, Carey play for the right to be titled the best boys’ soccer team in the state. What a great year it has been for boys soccer at Carey. Undefeated in 10 APS matches (9 wins and one draw). This Victorian Schools competition brings them to a total of 16 matches played and still undefeated.
One more big game to go. This Friday Carey play St Monica’s College of Epping.
Let’s hope our boys get the job done!
