Theatre and Drama

At Carey, we have an exceptional performing arts program. We are known for producing impressive performances in both theatre and music.

Many Carey students discover their passion for performance and continue to pursue it beyond their school years. Our team of theatre staff have worked on a range of international stage productions and continue to be involved in professional theatre communities and productions, allowing our students to have an insight into the industry and have their talents nurtured by professionals.

Students can get involved in:

• on-stage acting
• singing or dancing
• learning the art of stage make-up
• costume design
• set design
• lighting
• sound
• directing
• performing with the orchestra.

There are opportunities for every area of theatrical interest!

School Plays and Musicals

Each year, Middle and Senior School students can audition for a musical production and/or a play. These productions have large casts and supporting musical, backstage and production teams, so there are many ways that students can be involved.

Junior School students at both campuses are introduced to theatre with their own fully-staged musical theatre productions.

Theatre classes in the Middle and Senior Schools also perform throughout the year.
